Because I'm a shameless Manjoume fangirl.
This is where I feature a character from an anime and explain their name meanings. If you'd like to request a name meaning, let me know! ^_^
Name: Yukimura Seiichi
Anime: Prince of Tennis
Yukimura is a wonderful character that has lots of potential... His name is quite fitting to his character as well. "Yuki" is the kanji
for peace or happiness, and "mura" means village. I think this reflects the serenity of his nature very well.
The more interesting part about his name is the fact that it stems from the historic Japanese war hero, Sanada Yukimura. A
brilliant tactician and expert in the art of war, he almost led a successful campaign against the then-shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu. He is
ultimately betrayed and meets a tragic end. I think it's interesting indeed, that the powerhouse tennis team Rikkaidai's Captain (Yukimura)
and Vice Captain (Sanada) are named after this true life hero.
"Sei" means soul or life force. This of course, speaks to Yukimura's passionate feelings toward tennis, and his incredible
will to overcome his suffering to become greater than he is. Ichi is a common ending for a boy's name.

Bleach Ep 19: Ichigo Degenerates into a Hollow!
This week's episode was much better than last week's, although it's still along the same lines of training, which isn't very interesting to me. Ichigo's powers it seems, are more than they appear...and the developments with his Zanpakutou intrigue me. Ok...and Byakuya...what's up with him? I keep thinking there's got to be more to this character than just cold hearted distancing, but he's really starting to look like that's all there is!? Come on, Tezuka buchou!! Lol...I know there's some honor in there somewhere. ^_^;;;
I'll be brief today. It seems the fansubbers are stepping up the pace! I feel I've outgrown my usage. XD
So the episode opens with a shocked-looking Abarai Renji, who asks that Byakuya repeat what he just said. "Just as I told you. Don't make me repeat myself." He says it is the final decision of the Souls Society to execute Rukia 25 days hence. "We will not speak again. Rukia, the next time I see you...will be the date of your execution."
Rukia thinks to herself, she is not allowed to cry. For that symbolizes the defeat of the body to the soul...
Meanwhile, Ichigo is still struggling with his second test, which he has 72 hours to complete...
Elsewhere, Chad and Orihime are training so they can be strong enough to go to the Soul Society. But they're not having much luck. The cat (forget his name..) says they should remember the first time they used their powers. (Chad thinks: Ichigo's sister...she had a hat...hair...Ichigo's looks...and he pictures Ichigo in drag, and gets sick. Hehe). Orihime's more successful, as she remembers trying to protect Tatsuki. Her little fairies materialize, and Tsubaki, the head-strong one, starts to torment her...
Back with Ichigo, the fifth link to his chain has deteriorated. They seem to eat and sleep in cycles. He thinks that it's while they're sleeping that he's got a chance. He tries running up the walls of the cave with his hands still bound behind him, without much success... (I'll skip to the interesting part)
So Ichigo's been down there for 70 hours now, and all the sudden, the last few links go all at once. He screams in pain as the hollow within him begins to take over... Ururu prepares to take him out, but Urahara tells her to wait...something is not right. Usually, when one becomes a hollow, the mask is the last thing to materialize. But with Ichigo, the order is all wrong - the mask is the first thing to appear. Urahara explains that Ichigo is fighting the hollow within himself.
Suddenly, Ichigo wakes up to find himself in a strange world. A man draped in black addresses him. "Who are you?" Ichigo asks. He says his name, but it's garbled, and he can't hear. The man says, "So...you cannot hear my name yet. How sad...how many times to do I have to say it before my voice reaches you? And yet you are the only person in this world who can know me." All the sudden, Ichigo realizes that he's been sitting vertically on a building. He falls... The mysterious man flies down after him, and tells him that he must remember his powers as a Soul Reaper. Those powers that he had - were not limited to those given to him by Rukia. He had powers slumbering within him before he met her, and they were awakened by her powers. This was Byakuya's grave miscalculation...he did not expect that Ichigo had his own powers within. The world begins to crumble around Ichigo, as thousands of boxes fall around him. The man tells Ichigo that he must find the one box that hides his Soul Reaper powers...otherwise, he will never be able to return.
Ichigo tries to remember...Ishida once told him how he knew he was a Soul Reaper...there is something different about them. The red thread - a Soul Reaper's reiraku is red, compared to all others. He finds his powers in the box, and within it is his Zanpakutou. "So...at last you have found me. It would be hoped that next time...my voice shall reach you. Now...draw me out!" the man says.
Back in the real world, Ichigo bursts out of the cave in a flash of light and comes crashing down... When the dust settles, Urahara and the kids see Ichigo, dressed as a Soul Reaper, but with a hollow-like mask. He grabs his sword - which is broken at the hilt - and with the butt of his grip, he cracks off his mask....his face is still same old Ichigo. "Congrats! You were able to become a Soul Reaper again! You've cleared lesson 2!" Urahara says.
Ichigo's not very happy. "Shut up!" he yells, as he knocks Urahara over. "That I have come back alive means your luck has run out. I promised myself, if I came out alive, that I'd KILL YOU!!"
Urahara replies that they can now proceed to lesson 3...to knock off Urahara's hat, time is unlimited. "I can do it in 5 minutes!" Ichigo yells. "Fine...then try to do it in 5 minutes," Urahara replies, drawing a sword out of his cane...
